Guide: Transferring Playlist from Spotify to Google Play Music
Google Play Music is a music streaming service that was first released in 2011. It is a free service with no ads. You can listen to music from your computer, phone, or tablet. You can also watch music videos and listen to music offline. YouTube Music is a new music streaming service that was launched on October 29th, 2017. It is a paid service with ad-free listening and more features than Play Music. YouTube Music has several different ways to listen to your favorite songs: on your computer, phone, or tablet; on YouTube; or as part of a playlist on your Google account.
Google has not made it easy to import or export Play Music playlists. Some sites claim to have found a solution by using a java applet that you can bookmark in the browser. None of them worked during our tests. I am sharing the only two apps that have worked for us.
1. Stamp
Stamp is a versatile service that allows you to transfer playlists from Spotify to Google Play Music. It supports all desktop platforms and mobile OSs, and can be downloaded and installed on almost any platform.
Google Play Music will now ask you to select your destination to which you want to transfer the playlists. Select Google Play Music here. You will see a disclaimer that playlists in Google Play Music are limited to 1000 songs and it may take a while for the playlists to appear. Well, the 1000 limit is too much for me.
Please enter your ‘App password’ to continue.
Google is overprotective and you need to find the App Passwords option on the Security tab on My Account.
Stamp is a new app that allows users to create unique 16 digit codes. ..
Copy the password. Go back to Stamp and sign in to Google Play Music with this app password instead of your normal Google account password. The migration screen will now show you the options to migrate your songs. You can choose to transfer just 10 songs, or transfer all of your music from one playlist to another.
