Google Chrome’s new bookmark management extension is a great addition to the browser. It gives you an overhaul of the bookmark manager, which makes it easier and faster to add and manage your bookmarks. The + Free button on the toolbar lets you add the extension to your browser without having to sign in or create a profile.

The Bookmark Favicon Icon Changer lets you customize your bookmarks with a favorite website’s bookmark icon. To do this, go to this page and press the + Fee button. There, you can add the bookmark icon changer to Chrome. Then enter chrome://extensions/bookmark-favicon-changer to open the extension page and select the option Allow access to file URLs under Bookmark for Favicon Changer. Click the Bookmark Favicon Changer button on the toolbar and open the options page to access the tab below.
This extension allows you to customize the favicon icons for the site shortcuts on the bookmarks bar. Right-click on a bookmark in the Options tab and select Change Favicon from the context menu. Then you can choose a new favicon icon for the selected bookmark, it can be any image file.

You can remove all bookmark text from the bar so that the shortcuts only contain favicons. By removing the text, more website shortcuts will fit on the bar. Click Advanced Settings and then select the Auto Hide Bookmarks Bar Name option. That clears the text from the bookmarks bar as shown below. Note that folder titles are also removed.
