Guide: How to Create an Activity in Seesaw

If you are new to Seesaw, the platform may be challenging. However, it is very intuitive and easy to use. With Seesaw, you can create different activities for your students that help them learn new things and stay motivated.

To get started, you’ll need to create an account and add a profile picture. After that, you can start adding your first activity. ..

Make an activity on the seesaw

Create a new account on our website and follow these steps to get started:

  1. Log in to your account and click on the “Create an account” button.
  2. Enter your name and email address and click on the “Create an account” button.
  3. You will be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, such as your gender, age, and location.
  4. After you have created your account, you will be able to access it by clicking on the “Account” link at the top of the page.
  5. Once you have logged in, you can explore our website by clicking on the “Overview” tab at the top of the page.
  6. You can also find our contact information under “Contact us” at the bottom of this page.

Please describe your new activity in detail. This is important, especially if you are introducing an activity that your students are unfamiliar with. Make sure to include a detailed explanation, especially if you have young students who may not understand.

Once you have created the activity, you can share it with your students. However, you don’t have to do it immediately. That is good news for teachers who would like to prepare their material in advance. Your activity is saved in My Library and you can access it at any time.

When it comes to voice and multimedia instructions, all you have to do is tap on it and then record your voice or add an existing video. Don’t worry because you can listen to your recordings before uploading them.

How to Create a template or an example?

Adding a sample or template for student responses is not required, but we highly recommend it. That way your students can be sure that they are doing everything right. You can add a sample in the second field and a template in the third field. However, they both use the same forms, and we’ll explain now how to make them. ..

You can create templates in the Seesaw app with a variety of tools. When you click on Add preview or Add template, a new screen will appear. You can then choose from six shapes: photo, drawing, file, link, note, or video. ..

You can add an image, or you can draw something yourself. You can also add a link to an existing video explaining the activity. If you already have a file you want to add as a template, even better. Click Add File and then choose whether to add a file from your computer or Google Drive.

There you have it. However, be sure to save your changes when you’re done. Seesaw does not automatically save your changes. ..

How to Share an activity with your students?

When you create an activity in Seesaw, you have the option to share it with your students right away. However, we recommend that you check first if the activity and instructions look the way you wanted. ..

You can see all the activities you have ever made by clicking My Library in the top toolbar. There you can see all the activities that you have ever created. There is even a search feature this can be useful if you’ve been using Seesaw for a while and have a lot of activities saved.

If you have created an activity and it is not yet ok, please click on the green Share button in the upper right corner to share it with your classmates. You can also select the classes you want to share the activity with.

Activity Ideas

  1. Create a simple activity: Cut a piece of wood off the end of a saw blade and place it on the ground.
  2. Create an intricate activity: Cut pieces of wood off the end of saw blades and place them in different directions around the room.
  3. Create an exciting activity: Use Seesaw to cut pieces of metal from a sheet of metal.

If you’re an English teacher, Seesaw allows you to tailor your approach for kids who love to read but don’t write. You can give them a short story to read and then ask them to summarize it in a short voice note. If your students are just learning to read, you can ask them to read a few sentences out loud and record them so that you can review them.

Music and art teachers finally have a platform where they can share the most famous masterpieces or ask students to create their own. Science teachers can use the platform to upload videos of experiments that are difficult to perform in the classroom. You can then ask your students to explain or draw what they just saw.

If you’re a history teacher, consider adding old photos or videos from a specific time period to your curriculum. This will interest students and help them learn more about your topic.

We are sure that you will find something of interest in our course. After all, you know your students better than anyone.
