Final note
Google has recently announced a new feature called “Dark Mode” for its search engine. This mode makes the interface darker and more somber, perfect for when you’re looking for information at night or in low-light conditions. If you’re using a PC, here’s how to activate Dark Mode in Google Search:
- Open Google Search on your PC.
- In the top left corner of the main screen, click on the three lines in a blue box that says “Settings.”
- On the Settings page, under “General,” click on “Search Appearance.”
- Under “Search Appearance,” click on “Dark Mode.”
- If you want to make sure that Dark Mode is always active when you open Google Search, check the box next to “Always use Dark Mode.” ..
With dark mode enabled, Google Search changes to a dark background with white text and blue accents for links and buttons. The pressure on the eyes is significantly less and makes a big difference in daily use.
I’ve been using the Dark Reader extension in Chrome for a few years to get dark mode in Google Search for the desktop. Google launched dark mode a long time ago on the best Android Phones and while it took to bring the feature for desktop users, it’s great to see it’s finally here.
