How Snap Layouts and multiple virtual desktops can help you multitask. – Guide

Windows 11 is a new operating system that will be released on October 5th. It will have a number of new features, like a new design, support for Android apps, and enhancements for Microsoft Teams.

The new Windows 11 operating system is bringing some features to help you accomplish a variety of tasks, whether you’re using the device for work, personal purposes, or both. With Windows 11 virtual desktops, you can organize different desktops on one monitor. And Snap Layouts lets you structure your screen for maximum multitasking.

Multiple virtual desktops

With Windows 11, you can create separate virtual desktops to work on different tasks. This eliminates the need to click on minimized windows and tabs to see your work area. You can also have different backgrounds for each virtual desktop.

This feature is similar to the MacOS virtual desktop feature. If you scroll the task screen on the taskbar or press the Windows key plus Tab, you’ll see all of the existing desktops that you can switch between, or you can create a new one.

Instant Layouts in Windows 11

Windows 11 is adding another new feature that lets you better organize your apps and windows by grouping them. This is similar to grouping your apps on Android and iOS or using split screen. Instant Layouts is available in the Windows 11 Update Catalog and can be installed by following these steps:

  1. Open the Windows Update Catalog and click on the “Get” button to get the update.
  2. Once the update has been downloaded, open it and click on the “Install” button.
  3. After the update has been installed, follow these steps to use Instant Layouts:
  4. Open an app or window that you want to group together with Instant Layouts enabled.
  5. Right-click on that app or window and select “Group By” from the context menu.
  6. Select one of the following options: a) Group all apps together into a single window – this will create a new window with all of the apps in it grouped together like on Android or iOS devices b) Group each app by type – for example, groups apps by file type, application name, etc. c) Group each app by location – for example, groups apps by location in your computer’s drive or folder

With Snap Layouts, you can snap windows into place to keep all the information well organized on your screen. ..

You can quickly and easily minimize or maximize the Snap Group at once from the taskbar, eliminating the need to search and open multiple windows. And any Snap Groups you’ve created will stay in place even if you dock or undock the computer.
